The Music Stuff…

Born and raised on the west coast of central Scotland, I spent my formative years training for retirement by gardening and listening to jazz cassette tapes with my grandfather. This inspired what became a pretty fruitful career in music that took me around the world at a very young age.

As a drummer for hire, I toured internationally across the UK, Europe, Asia, and North America. I’ve performed live on BBC Radio and TV in the UK, PBS in the United States, as well as various stations in France and Germany. My drumming has been featured by Disney, Universal Records, and in a number of TV commercials worldwide—most cheekily, a Victoria’s Secret commercial in the USA.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with artists including:

UK: Findlay Napier, Rachel Sermanni, Nicola Benedetti, Katie Sutherland/Pearl & The Puppets, Hamish Napier, Leo Forde, The 12 Tenors, The Ansion, Tigerstyle, Harry Margolis, Counselled Out, Jim Prime, Sonny Marvello, to name a few.

USA: Miss Tess & The Talkbacks, Jim Lauderdale, Nora Jane Struthers, Tim McNary, Emma Beaton, David Moss, Z&A, Brooms, Chamomile & Whisky, Michaela Anne.

I’ve also had the privilege of opening for artists like Sir Elton John and Blondie. In the studio, I’ve collaborated with producers such as Matty Benbrook (Faithless), Steve Chrisanthau (Corinne Bailey Rae), Alex James (Blur), and David Kosten (Coldplay, R.E.M.).

The Tech Stuff…

I’m a product leader with a background that bridges research, design, and strategy. Over the past decade, I’ve helped startups, Fortune 100 companies, and global brands define, design, and launch new products—work that has been recognized with CES Best of Innovation and Canon’s President’s Award for Innovation.

Since entering the world of product design through the Techstars NYC accelerator, I’ve led initiatives across industries including insurance, financial technology, telecoms, aviation, traditional retail, e-commerce, music, and healthcare, partnering with teams like Canon, Nationwide, Walmart, Verizon, Deloitte, Red Bull, and Gulfstream.

My expertise spans the full product lifecycle—from research and strategy to design, alignment, and launch—always with a focus on connecting customer needs with business outcomes.

These days, I’m focused on helping companies turn big ideas into products that (hopefully) create real value for people and lasting impact for the business.

The Poetry Stuff…

What was essentially born out of pandemic boredom has become a creative outlet that’s led to a few fun opportunities over the years. I appeared on the People Supporting Artists Telethon during the COVID-19 pandemic to help raise money for MusiCares, alongside artists like Rosanne Cash, Shovels & Rope, and John Oates. It was broadcast from Nashville, TN, in 2020.

I also appear on Nashville-based songwriter extraordinaire Anthony Da Costa’s 2020 album What Plans.

Since 2020, I’ve read my poetry to live audiences in New York, Tennessee, and Texas, and I’m planning a book release very soon.
